একটু ভেবে দেখুন – মেয়ে জন্ম থেকে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত প্রত্যেকটা সময় অন্যের ওপর নির্ভর করে বেঁচে থাকে। কখনো পরিবারের কাছে, কখনো স্বপ্নের কাছে, কখনো ভালোবাসার মানুষের কাছে, কখনো সমাজের কাছে,কখনো নিজের ইচ্ছের কাছে।
- আসলে মেয়েদের জীবনে চাওয়া পাওয়া গুলো নিজের একান্তে থেকে যায়।
- কখনও তাদের মুখে প্রকাশ পায় না।
- তাদের যেন কোনো স্বপ্ন বা আশা থাকতে নেই।
- তাদের জন্য যেটা থাকে, সেটা হল অন্যের জন্য বেঁচে থাকা।
- জন্মের পর মা বাবার জন্য, বিয়ের পর স্বামীর জন্য আর ‘‘মা ” হওয়ার পর তার সন্তানের জন্য।
- মেয়েদের জীবনটা বড়ই অদ্ভুত, মানিয়ে নিতে নিতে আর মানিয়ে চলতে চলতে জীবন শেষ।
- প্রথম নিঃশ্বাসটা বাপের বাড়ি থেকে শুরু হয়।
- আর নিঃশ্বাসটা শেষ হয়, স্বামীর বাড়িতে।
- মেয়েদের জীবনটা কি অদ্ভুত তাই না।

- যদি চুপচাপ থাকে তাহলে মেয়েটা অহংকারী।
- কথা কম বললে বলবে – ভাব নিয়ে থাকে।
- বেশি কথা বললে বলবে – মাত্রাতিরিক্ত বাচাল।
- বিয়ের বয়স হলে – বাবা-মায়ের চেয়ে পাড়া-প্রতিবেশীরা বেশি চিন্তিত।
- লেখা পড়া একটু বেশি করলে – এত লেখাপড়ার কি দরকার ? লেখাপড়া করে জীবনে কে কি করেছে? মেয়ে যে বিয়ে দিয়ে দিন সংসারী হবে।
- আর সাধারন ভাবে চলাফেরা করলে মেয়েটা ক্ষ্যাত।
- যদি একটু বেশি সাজে, তাহলে বলবে – মেয়েটি নির্ঘাত কোনো ছেলের প্রেমে পড়েছে।
- মেয়েটি একটু রোগ হল বলবে, বাবা – মা মনে হয়; কিছুই খাওয়ায় না।
- মোটা হলে বলবে – এই মেয়েকে কোনো ছেলেই বিয়ে করবে না। আজকাল কার ছেলেরা মোটা মেয়ে একদম পছন্দ করে না।
